Conversation with DDC Commissioner Dr. Feniosky Peņa-Mora
When: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM FRIDAY, MAY 19
Where: At The Center
The Department of Design and Construction has been the capital construction agency for New York City since 1996. As part of Mayor de Blasio's vision for a strong and just city, over the last three years DDC has made internal and external improvements that take the department to the next level of excellence, allowing us, in partnership with the design community, to better support the Mayor's vision of a thriving, equitable, sustainable, resilient and healthy city.
DDC Commissioner Dr. Feniosky Peña-Mora will speak to the state of the agency as the third anniversary of his appointment approaches. In addition, he will address what changes have taken place as a result of his many meetings with AIANY architects - dating back to a listening tour just after his being named to the post by Mayor de Blasio - and where we are, all together, going next.
Topics to be discussed include recent DDC achievements, DDC capital program, Design and Construction Excellence 2.0, Guiding Principles and Handbooks as well as new initiatives and next steps. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and make relevant statements and comments. The program is meant to be a conversation, continuing the positive dialogue between AIA New York and the Department of Design and Construction
