AIA New York Chapter 150th Annual Meeting

When: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM TUESDAY, JUNE 20

Where: At The Center   

Please join us as at the AIA New York's 150th Annual Meeting, where we will elect our 2018 leadership and suggest revisions to the Chapter Bylaws. The Annual Meeting is also an opportunity to honor those who contribute to New York City's built environment and celebrate the progress and direction of the Chapter. From public advocacy to professional training, design awards to global dialogues, AIANY will highlight the challenges and successes from the past year. We will also share our goals for the remainder of 2017 and beyond.
 
The 2017 Board Slate (for service beginning January 2018) is available as a PDF as well as below. Independent nominations may be submitted to the Secretary via the Chapter (info@aiany.org) in accordance with Chapter Bylaws. If an independent slate is submitted, a ballot election will be held at the Annual Meeting. If there is no independent slate, the Secretary is empowered to vote a single ballot for the Nominating Committee slate as presented.

Suggested revision to the Chapter Bylaws pertaining to Section 7.7 Design Awards Committee
7.71. Composition: There shall be an elective Design Awards Committee consisting of six members and the Alternate Director for Design Excellence. Four members shall be elected and two shall be appointed by the Executive Committee. The Executive Director in consultation with the President shall select one of its members, except the Alternate Director, as Chair.
 
7.72. Term: The term of office for the elected and appointed members of the committee shall be one year. Members may serve two (2) consecutive terms if duly elected or appointed.
 
7.73. Meetings: The committee shall hold at least four meetings each year. Four members of the committee shall constitute a quorum.
 
7.74. Responsibility: The committee, working with the Chapter Board of Directors and chapter staff, shall organize the annual Design Awards Program in accordance with the Rules of the Board. Participants and firms of Committee members will not be allowed to submit to the competition in their year of service.
