The Happold Trust Presents: Thom Mayne on Performalism

Please join the Happold Trust for a fundraising event for Engineers Without Borders.
Keynote speaker architect Thom Mayne, FAIA, will lecture on Performalism.
What is the nature of the relationship between environmental performance and formal architecture? How can the boundaries between performance drive design and formalism be broken down? Through discussion of select projects including the San Francisco Federal Building, 41 Cooper Square (the new academic building at the Cooper Union) and the forthcoming Phare Tower in Paris, Thom Mayne will discuss his firm’s evolving integrated approach to design and environmental performance.
Price: $15 for students and members of AIANY, ASHRAE NY, and Engineers without Borders, and Buro Happold employees; $20 for non-members
Cash will be accepted at the door. Please bring membership cards or student ID to the event. All proceeds from this event will go to the New York professional chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-NY).

About the Happold Trust
Established in 1995 the Happold Trust is a registered charity that promotes education, research and training in the fields applicable to the construction industry, engineering, design, technology and architecture. Funded by donations from the Buro Happold partnership, the Trust is administered by a group of Trustees from Buro Happold. In addition to the student scholarships, the Happold Trust donates too many important Design and Engineering non-for-profits.
