Field Trip to New Transplant Unit at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY

When: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM THURSDAY, JULY 12

Where: AIANY Tours   

Field trip to the new SUNY Transplant Unit. This 12,000 s.f. gut renovation was designed to provide a post-surgical inpatient care unit for kidney transplant patients, including Intermediate Care and Acute Care accommodations.

The unit achieves state-of-the art care in a patient-focused environment by providing new, single bedded patient rooms that meet or exceed minimum code requirements. The project includes replacement of major MEP systems.
The hospital is located in the heart of one of the nation’s largest, most ethnically diverse communities, and has a mission to advance the medical sciences to the community at large.
