Scaling Passive House: Big Buildings, Small Details
AIA CES 1.5 LU | 1.5 HSW GBCI 1.5 CE Hours
When: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM THURSDAY, MARCH 19
Where: At The Center
Passive House is successfully addressing an ever-growing array of building types, including mid- and high-rise office and residential buildings, medical centers, shopping centers, and sports venues. Today entire new city districts have been built to the Passive House standard, planned as integral elements in municipal and regional efforts to reduce carbon emissions while making better buildings and providing beneficial economic activity.
Leading Passive House expert, Günter Lang, will provide key insights into how the performance transformation of big buildings has been made possible, with specific examples of construction processes, construction details, and building systems. He will also present regional case studies of successful political and economic implementation. Günter will look at the local context today, and how Passive House can help New York City toward its goal of 80% carbon emissions reductions by 2050.
Organized by: AIANY Committee on the Environment (COTE), Urban Green Council (UG), and New York Passive House (NYPH)
Price: $5 for AIA, UG, NYPH members; $15 for non-members
