Urban Climate Adaptation: A Catalyst for Better, More Livable Cities

AIA CES: 3 LU|HSW

When: 11:30 AM - 5:00 PM WEDNESDAY, ARCHTOBER 21

Where: At The Center

Climate change will continue to increase annual temperatures, levels of precipitation, and sea level in the next century. These climate trends increase the risks for cities around the world. New York City is no stranger to the devastating effects of climate change, and these risks have prompted investments to secure the future resiliency and sustainability of New York City’s people, economy, and infrastructure. In the Nordic countries, urban climate change adaptation and resiliency go hand in hand with improving livability and sustainability.

Divided into two separate workshops – Policy & Architecture and Water Technology & Innovation – the program will offer insight into Nordic and NYC approaches to urban climate adaptation through cases, panel discussions and interaction with the audience.
