Affordability and Supportive Housing: Unpacking Navy Green, Brooklyn
AIA CES: 1.5 LU | 1.5 HSW
When: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM TUESDAY, MARCH 1
Where: At The Center
Navy Green Supportive Housing, designed by Architecture in Formation and Curtis + Ginsberg Architects and winner of a 2015 AIANY Housing Award, serves as a case study for the many factors that affect the cost of an affordable housing project. Navy Green Supportive Housing is part of the larger Navy Green mixed-income residential development. The entire block-size site, and Navy Green Supportive Housing in particular, is the result of a collaboration between for- and non-profit developers, architects, government agencies, and the private sector.
The goal of the discussion is to take a close look at the project to understand what made it possible in terms of zoning, program, financing, and replicability. Different groups involved in the project will present and then come together in a moderated conversation.
