Conversation with DOB Commissioner Rick Chandler

When: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM FRIDAY, MAY 5

Where: At The Center

The Department of Buildings (DOB) promotes the safety of all people that build, work, and live in New York City by regulating the lawful use of over one million buildings and construction sites across the five boroughs. With a focus on safety, service, and integrity, the Department enforces the City’s Construction Codes, Zoning Resolution, and the New York State Multiple Dwelling Law.

DOB Commissioner Rick Chandler will speak to the state of the agency and the industries it regulates as the third anniversary of his appointment approaches. In addition, he will address what changes have taken place as a result of his many meetings with AIANY architects and where we are, all together, going next.

Topics to be discussed include DDC achievements, DOB NOW, Project Guidelines as well as new initiatives and next steps. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and make relevant statements and comments. The program is meant to be a conversation, continuing the positive dialogue between AIA New York and the Department of Department of Buildings.
