Walking Tour - The NYU Superblocks & SoHo: Modernist Urban Renewal and More Recent Urban Interventions

Walking Tour Sponsored by the AIANY Architectural Tourism Committee and lead by an AIANY guide

With Houston Street as a physical and ideological divide, this tour explores the architecture of Robert Moses-era superblocks south of Washington Square, and new construction in the protected SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District. Washington Square Village, I.M. Pei's Silver Towers, Aldo Rossi's Scholastic Building and Jean Nouvel's 40 Mercer Street, as well as the Little Singer Building and the Haughwout Building, are included.

The tour will meet at the Center for Architecture and begin promptly at 10 AM
