Low Rise High Density Now

AIA CES: 1.5 LU | 1.5 HSW

When: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26

Where: At The Center

A discussion of the opportunities and challenges in low-rise, high-density housing in the greater New York area. This program is the last in a series of three public discussions around the exhibition Low Rise High Density, co-sponsored by the Institute for Public Architecture.

This event coincides with the publication of June Williamson’s Designing Suburban Futures (Island Press, 2013), the development of Rose Companies’ Paseo Verde in Philadelphia, and the Jersey City Housing Authority’s McGinley Square-Montgomery Corridor CHOICE Neighborhood Initiative. Richard Plunz’s own groundbreaking design proposal from 1971, Alternative Suburbia, is featured in the exhibition Low Rise High Density. Speakers will explore the evening's topic from the perspectives of housing policy and development, architecture, and architecture history.
