Combining Technologies in the Operating Room: How To Plan, Design, and Implement Hybrid ORs

Hybrid operating rooms (ORs )are a relative new technology that have gained momentum in all hospital environment’s, from major academic medical centers to community hospitals. Event topics will cover the history of hybrid ORs, potential procedures, service lines utilizing a hybrid OR and planning/design considerations. Discover how hybrid OR suites create a safer, more efficient environment for patients and staff. Attendees will gain an understanding of how the integration of robotics, monitors, lighting, and other OR utilities optimize work flow and procedures.

Speaker Bios:

Ferhat Salah is the founding Principal of MEPLAN, an internationally recognized equipment planning firm that provides a full range of professional equipment planning services to clients throughout the United States, as well as, internationally for projects in the Gulf Region and North Africa. Ferhat has an engineering degree from Polytechnic University of Algiers and has provided equipment planning services for over two decades.

Jennifer Schaadt is a Principal Consultant with Siemens Healthcare Integrated Services Management Group. Jennifer has an executive MBA and a Master of Science degree in Cardiopulmonary Science from Northeastern University. Jennifer’s clinical career began as a Respiratory Therapist with a transition into perfusion, working as a board certified perfusionist in the Boston area for 10 years. In her current role, Jennifer provides consulting to customers in a variety of service lines and imaging modalities developing plans to maximize efficiency and growth as well as promote quality improvement, outcomes and patient safety. She is a certified project manager through PMI and is certified in Lean.

David Eustace is the Director of Marketing in the Critical Care and Surgical Workplaces Division of Maquet Medical Systems. With a background in Project Management, David provides a hands-on resource for Architects and Equipment Planners on MAQUET products and planning methods. David has a BA from Queen's University at Kingston, ON and has worked for medical equipment companies since 1990 in various Sales and Marketing roles. David also has a patent in thermoregulation (for infant incubators/ warmers) and extensive experience in medical equipment planning and design.
